LiveSmartly Technology Hub Accessibility Statement

LiveSmartly Technology Hub is committed to ensuring our website is accessible to all users, including those with disabilities. We strive to follow best practices and accessibility standards to provide an inclusive online experience, going beyond the recommendations stated in Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act 1998. To help us make our website a positive place for everyone, we dedicated ourselves to using the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 (https://www.w3.org/WAI/standards-guidelines/wcag/) to lead the development of this platform. These guidelines explain how to make web content more accessible for people with disabilities, more compatible with assistive technology, and more user friendly for all. The guidelines have three levels of accessibility (A, AA and AAA). We aim for AA as the target for the LiveSmartly website.

To help us achieve our goal of Level AA accessibility, we have partnered with several consumer advisors from the community and national organizations to conduct testing using several web access methods including different browsers, screen readers, voice control methods, etc. Software, such as WAVE and Accessibility Insights for Web is used to automatically and manually scan and fix accessibility issues. We monitor the website regularly to maintain our ongoing commitment to delivering a site that is accessible to the largest possible audience.

We are constantly striving to be better and update our website regularly to make its content as accessible as possible. We welcome comments or suggestions at SmartTech@groups.pitt.edu or you can report digital accessibility barriers by completing the contact us form. If you do encounter an accessibility issue, please be sure to specify the webpage in your email, and we will use all reasonable efforts to assist you.

If you would like to file a complaint related to the Section 508 ICT accessibility of any content or the user interface on this website, please e-mail section508@state.gov. Where applicable, please include the web address or URL and the specific accessibility barrier(s) you are encountering.
